Arizona Industry Liaison Group (AZilg)

The Arizona Industry Liaison Group (AZilg), established in 1975 as the Arizona Affirmative Action Association or Quad A, is a non-profit educational and professional organization. Throughout the year, AZilg provides its members with quality, up-to-date information on changes in the law and other compliance requirements through complimentary monthly workshops and seminars. AZilg also offers an annual conference which includes presenters from the OFCCP, EEOC and other agencies, as well as legal and nationally recognized compliance experts. AZilg provides all members with the opportunity to network with peers in the industry, learn from top experts in the fields of AA/EEO compliance and diversity, and build partnerships with the regulatory compliance agencies – EEOC, OFCCP, DOL Wage & Hour Division and state agencies.

History of Industry Liaison Groups

In the early 1980s, in anticipation of new regulations for Executive Order 11246, Ellen Shong, past Director of the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs, Department of Labor, encouraged open communications between industry and the OFCCP through Industry Liaison Groups.

Representatives from companies that were Federal Contractors began forming ILGs together with the Department of Labor in regions around the country. These groups sought technical assistance from OFCCP representatives regarding compliance issues. With collaboration and encouragement from the OFCCP Director’s Office, ILGs began forming all around the country.

ILGs provide the OFCCP and employers with an opportunity to discuss changes in federal contracting requirements and compliance trends.
