The nature of the award is to recognize significant contributions to the EEO/AA/Diversity and Human Resources (HR) field through dynamic lifetime/career achievements and its application to the practice. To be eligible, the nominee must:
- Be a HR or EEO/AA professional in the field and possess a track record of contributing to the HR discipline.
- Be or have been employed by a federal contractor with AAP requirements or have been involved with workplace practices such as data analytics and metrics to support D&I efforts; promote diversity, inclusion and equality through various programs in the workplace.
- Be a member of an Industry Liaison Group (ILG) or another HR Professional Association such as SHRM.
- Have interactions with the HR/EEO/AA/Diversity practitioner community, as evidenced, for example, working with practitioners in their daily HR practice.
- Be able to demonstrate their commitment to HR and EEO/AA/Diversity through programs or initiatives that they influenced, championed and implemented that show impactful results.
This John A. Garza Lifetime Achievement Award is not limited to Arizona practitioners – nominees from across the USA are eligible for nomination. This award is open to those who meet the eligibility requirements noted above. Self-nominations are welcome!
