Topic: Affirmative Action – Compliance to Recruitment
Affirmative action programs (AAPs) involve policies and procedures for all employees throughout an organization. Recruiters, however, play a critical role in ensuring the success of such programs. Their actions, decisions, and documentation are the foundation for much of the data that requires analysis. This data shapes the goals, action-oriented programs and ultimately the success of these programs. It is crucial for recruiters to understand the various requirements of AAPs and how their actions fit into the bigger picture of compliance.
In this session, “Compliance to Recruitment” we will cover the fundamentals of what Affirmative Action Programs are and the significant components that create an intersection of compliance with recruitment. Compliance professionals and recruiters will join forces to learn how they can dance together with grace through each stage of an AAP. Jennifer will discuss:
- What affirmative action programs are and why they are required
- The three “statutes” OFCCP enforces and the major recruitment components of each
- The Internet Applicant Rule
- Techniques to manage common recruitment concerns that intersect compliance
This session is approved for both HRCI and SRHM credits.
